Top Gear

The Top Gear special feature for Sports Relief, first broadcast on 10 July 2004 Top Gear's Jeremy Clarkson went bumper to bumper with Jodie Kidd, Alan Davies, Patrick Kielty, Darren Jordan and Jimmy Carr in a series of tyre-screechingly fast paced challenges designed to test their pedal power to the max. Among the highlights were a classic car race around the circuit, car-skittles and a double-decker banger challenge. Richard Hammond and James May presided over the action and offered their usual critique on contestants' skill levels.

The distance between Resolute in northern Canada and the magnetic North Pole at Ellef Ringnes Island is 450 miles. It's a journey across sea ice and unforgiving mountainous terrain where temperatures can drop to minus 65ºC - a temperature at which exposed skin can freeze in less than 30 seconds. Only fools would attempt such a journey. So Jeremy and James are attempting to do it in the now legendary Toyota Hilux and Richard hopes to make it on a sled pulled by ten Canadian Inuit dogs. Watch the complaints from environmentalists roll in.

Top Gear of the Pops is a one-off musical special of the motoring show featuring Travis, Supergrass, McFly (given the task of writing a song in ten minutes) and finally Justin Hawkins - supported by Clarkson on drums, Hammond on bass and May on the keys. It was shown as part of the Comic Relief 16 March 2007 appeal, mixing elements of Top Gear with Top of the Pops, the British music chart show cancelled in 2006, and the news segment features the hosts arguing about the state of the modern music scene. Not to be missed.

The Top Gear team of Jeremy Clarkson, James May and Richard Hammond decided, for Sport Relief, to impersonate and belittle the show Ground Force, and provide a garden makeover to the garden of one of Britain's sporting legends, namely Steve Redgrave. Helping them was a team of "Foreign Nationals", and on hand to provide advice on Redgrave's tastes was his wife, Ann Redgrave, who was erroneously addressed and referred to as "Lady Ann" rather than the proper "Lady Redgrave".

In a special extended version of the programme, Jeremy Clarkson, Richard Hammond and James May embark on an appropriately seasonal road trip as they attempt to follow the path of the Three Wise Men across the Middle East.

Jeremy Clarkson, Richard Hammond and James May set out to boost the British economy by embarking on a trade mission to India. Equipped with three old British cars and a range of uniquely British products, they set off on an epic road trip across one of the world's most fascinating and challenging countries, devotedly promoting Britain with distinctly mixed results.

Seven days, more than 1,000 miles, 20 cars, two boats, a motorbike and one dream...The Perfect Road Trip. The aim: to select the ideal mode of transport for each leg of a pilgrimage from Venice, Italy to Pau in France – home to a legendary street circuit and the origins of Grand Prix racing. On the way we prepare by taking to the track at Monza – the home of Italian Formula One. We try to get noticed on the road course in Monaco in a Bugatti, a Lamborghini and a Model T Ford. After cruising the canals in Venice we take to the tarmac and things look good - thanks to the Ferrari F12 Berlinetta and Mercedes SLS Black. Throw in a Pagani Huayra, Porsche Cayman S and a GT3 as well as the Aston Martin Vanquish centenary edition, Bentley V8 convertible, Rolls Royce Phantom coupe and the face-bending BAC Mono all seems pretty perfect to us. There’s culture too. An all-out effort to get the Birmingham burger-boy to savour the culinary delights of Italy and France – including octopus and an old balcony. Then it’s time to turn up the heat even more with a Top Gear race... and the worst forfeit in television history Finally we head to the historic road course in Pau. Surely nothing could spoil our Perfect Road Trip... Enjoy...! Jeremy Clarkson & Richard Hammond

Presented by Richard Hammond and featuring stunts and tomfoolery never before seen on TV, Top Gear Uncovered is the ultimate insight into the Top Gear world, with an exclusive look at the world of Top Gear Scientific Research, the Top Gear Diet, the Top Gear Presenter's Wardrobe and the Top Gear complaints procedure.

Richard celebrates 50 years of James Bond films with a look back at the film's different vehicles, including the Aston Martin DB5 and the Lotus Esprit. He also chats to Daniel Craig and Roger Moore and goes behind the scenes on the latest Bond adventure Skyfall.

The Top Gear Festival special kicks off with Clarkson and May smoking V8 race utes to settle the Holden vs Ford debate, then Mark Webber turns up.

Jeremy, Richard and James will take a Porsche 928, Lotus Esprit and Ford Mustang through their most grueling challenge to date: a 1600-mile trek through Patagonia to the southernmost city in the world, in order to stage an epic game of car football against Argentina. There will be swamps, deserts, forests, beaches, and ski slopes for the three V8 sports cars to suffer. There will also be broken bones, mechanical calamities and even some cows. Plus, a climax that wasn’t really on the cards.

Top Gear sets out on a high-altitude voyage from Kathmandu, capital of Nepal, to the Forbidden City of Lo Manthang, a secretive kingdom perched high on the Tibetan plateau, on the far side of the Himalayas. It is a five-day expedition through the highest mountains, deepest gorges and harshest terrain on the planet. On their journey, the Top Gear presenters battle river crossings, mudslides and dizzying mountain passes on a trip that would test even the hardiest new 4x4s on the planet to the limit. But Paddy, Freddie and Chris aren’t crossing the Himalayas in new 4x4s. They are crossing the Himalayas in a very small old Peugeot, a very small old Renault and Nepal’s first (and only) home-built car.

In this special Christmas episode, Freddie, Chris and Paddy play 'car secret Santa' for a festive road trip across Britain, transporting a giant Christmas tree as they head to Top Gear's very own winter wonderland.

Jeremy Clarkson, Richard Hammond and James May compare the Mercedes SLS, the Porsche 911 GT3 RS and the Ferrari 458 Italia in an epic road trip up America's east coast. Along the way they undertake a series of challenges culminating in a fight to find the fastest way into New York, all in the name of crowning the world's greatest sports car. Plus, a round up of car-related Christmas stuff and another celebrity takes to the track as the star in a Reasonably Priced Car.

Just what will motoring be like in a post apocalyptic world that’s been blown to bits by nuclear bombs or a massive comet? It’s a burning question that’s on literally nobody’s mind, and we give you all the answers in this brand new, incredibly cheerful Top Gear DVD. Embarking on a terrifying journey into the future, we show you how to drive to work in the perpetual darkness of a Nuclear Winter, how to make motorsport exciting when there’s only two racing drivers left alive, and, in a world where all cars are bristling with weapons, how to survive the savage, explosive fury of a Doomsday M.O.T test. And amongst all the nuclear carnage, we also tackle the ultimate petrolhead’s dilemma – what cars would you take for a final drive if there was only one barrel of petrol left on the planet? The explosions are huge, the cars are superb, so relax and enjoy. PS. This frightening vision of a post nuclear world is backed up by top scientists, in case you think it’s us just cocking about.

For the first time ever, Jeremy Clarkson and James May join forces to bring you this Ultimate Top Gear Special and they are on the search for the worst car in the world... and that doesn't just mean clapped out old bangers!

Seven days, more than 1,000 miles, 20 cars, two boats, a motorbike, and one dream...The Perfect Road Trip. (Fix the original entry can't be edited)

In 2013 Jeremy Clarkson and Richard Hammond embarked on what they hoped would be the perfect road trip. It started well and ended, quite frankly, very badly. Unbowed, the Top Gear pair are back for another crack and this time they’re hoping to avoid inconveniences like apprehension by the French police. Welcome, then, to The Perfect Road Trip… 2. Once again, Clarkson and Hammond are seeking joy and perfection wherever it may be with a range of fast, beautiful and exciting cars unleashed on glorious roads amongst gorgeous scenery and drenched in Mediterranean sunshine. As part of their arduous research into perfection, the duo will also undertake some ridiculous challenges and hilarious stunts culminating in a strangely literal car race on the island of Capri. Top Gear – The Perfect Road Trip 2. This time it really is perfect. Except for the bits that aren’t.

Cars! Film! Cars on film! Film involving cars! You get the idea. It’s basically a Blu-ray involving those two things. Gasp as we find the perfect drift car for a gritty, Bourne Identity-style chase! Cheer as we stage a race for all those unsung heroes of the movie industry! Whoop as we find the car that makes the perfect dramatic exhaust note to dub onto an action sequence! Make some other sort of noise we haven’t thought of yet as we re-attempt the classic Man With The Golden Gun barrel roll, having frankly made a total hash of it when we first tried it on telly! All this plus a vast fleet of sexy supercars and a man with a jet pack racing a Skoda. Top Gear At The Movies. It’s better than an actual movie. Probably. Actually, it depends on which movie we’re talking about. Truth is, you’d be better judging this on a case-by-case basis. Why not write to us with the name of a film and we’ll tell you whether this Blu-ray is better or not. Actually, on second thoughts, don’t.

Alphabetical celebration of the best of the Clarkson, Hammond and May years.

Alphabetical celebration of the best of the Clarkson, Hammond and May years.

Part one includes the team building trains out of cars which they subsequently race, attempting to outrun the Stig in a police car while driving an industrial van and destroying houses with different military equipment.

Part two includes the boys attempting to beat the train-based food delivery system in India. They later try their hand at playing with life-sized remote control cars, and James gets himself concussed in the Middle East. As if this weren't enough, we look back at the never ending attempts to destroy a Toyota Hilux that proved pointless.

Clarkson looks at the reasons why Ayrton Senna is considered to be - not only the best driver of his generation but the Greatest F1 Driver of all time - he won the Formula One World Drivers' Championship in 1988, 1990 and 1991 earning him the nickname 'The King Of The Rain'... but sadly passed on May the 1st, 1994 after crashing his car mid-race at the San Marino Grand Prix on the Autodromo Enzo e Dino Ferrari circuit located in Imola, Italy. Originally airing on the 25th of July 2010 as a segment on the main show but was sadly pulled and cut afterwards from the DVD/Blu-Ray and streaming services because of the use of unlicensed content within the segment. #RememberSenna "Being second is to be the first of the ones who lose." - Ayrton Senna
