In this new reality/competition series hosted by Sara Rue ("Almost Perfect"), nine overweight couples with nine unique wedding themes engage in competition to win the wedding of their dreams. This week the couples size each other up and get cut down to size by fitness trainers Jennifer and Nicky in grueling workouts. Size becomes an issue as the couples try on wedding gowns and tuxedos with wedding planner Brian Worley. The first wedding challenge is a dance-a-thon where the couple's will compete to win their fantasy wedding gown and tux. And one couple triumphs while another is sent packing in a tense "Til Death Do Us Part" elimination challenge.
While everyone else is busting their butts in the gym, one of the contestants becomes the focus of Jennifer's wrath for being lazy. The couples go to Jamaica's Cakes in Los Angeles to sample and select wedding cakes, but not everyone will take a taste. The winners of this week's wedding challenge walk off with their dream wedding cake, while the losers earn a major penalty that could cost them the entire competition. Two couples face off in a physical endurance challenge that will send one couple home.
This week the couples get to choose their wedding flowers, but in order to win them they must power through a grueling wedding challenge on the beach. In addition to the flowers, winning the challenge also earns one lucky couple a one-pound penalty to be given away to another couple at the weekly weigh-in. Also, after failing to lose any weight the previous week, two contestants receive special attention from nutritionist Ashley Koff, R.D. Finally, two couples face off in the final eliminate challenge and one couple will be sent home.
This week the couples join wedding coordinator Brian Worley to pick out their dream wedding rings. Meanwhile, one contestant faces down his nemesis and gets closer to fulfilling his life-long dream of becoming a cop, and the sound of sirens become very familiar as two contestants are taken away by ambulance on the same day. One happy couple conquers the challenge and wins the ring of their dreams, and gets to give a one-pound penalty to another couple who don't take the news very well. Lastly, one couple will triumph while another is sent packing in a tense elimination challenge.
This week the five remaining couples choose invitations and table settings with the help of wedding coordinator Brian Worley, and to mix things up, trainers Jennifer Cohen and Nicky Holender take the couples to a pole dancing class. Meanwhile, one couple has a heart-to-heart about their need to step it up in the competition, and for the first time, immunity is on the line during the wedding challenge, in addition to another one-pound penalty. One contestant desperately wants that immunity, and the win would allow them to use one-pound penalty against another contestant as payback. Finally, two couples face off in the elimination challenge and one couple will be sent home.
The contestants receive complete makeovers and participate in a photo shoot; the couples choose their dream wedding menu; an injury prevents one couple from participating in the wedding challenge.
After three months of working on their weight loss at home, the couples return to face the scale; previously eliminated couples compete for the ultimate honeymoon; the final two couples compete for the grand prize.
They are two of the most stressful things in life - planning a wedding and losing weight. Ten overweight engaged couples will live together and battle for the wedding of their dreams over a three-month period. Every episode, the couples will face off in a big physical challenge, competing to win one element of their wedding - from the invitations, to the cake, to the rings. Whatever they win will be theirs to keep. Together, they will plan their weddings with the help of the nation's top wedding planners, they will take a vow to eat right and exercise, and world-class trainers and nutritionists will completely overhaul their bodies. At the end of each episode, the couples will step on the scale and be weighed together - the couple who lost the least amount of combined weight that week will be eliminated. In the end, one couple will win their fantasy wedding - a once-in-a-lifetime event - that America will attend.
