The Kollective meet in person for the first time to discuss a new project. Josh is driven to solve the mystery surrounding a plane crash in the Democratic Republic of the Congo that killed all passengers on board, including a prominent journalist.

In Kinshasa, Delia, Aaron and Maya are devastated to see Joshua's tortured body; while officials feed them the implausible story that Josh's murder was the result of a robbery gone wrong, Delia's rage is barely contained.

The Kollective reunite at Joshua's funeral, determined to uncover the truth but lacking sufficient evidence to publish.

The Kollective plans Sugalov's escape from Russia with Maya and Sergey. Sugalov agrees to an interview in exchange for asylum but unexpectedly arrives with his teenage daughter, Anna. He refuses to talk until both are guaranteed safety.

After publishing Joshua's death footage, The Kollective exposes Russia's crimes in the DRC. As Mbemba leads the presidential race, the Russians threaten Etienne, using his daughter Arielle as leverage.

Witnessing Drischev's shocking death, Aaron resolves to track Kuzmin's plane with Etienne, who has rejoined The Kollective. He identifies Kuzmin's companion as Rebin Tuerxun, a US-educated scientist.
