The Last Immortal

The birth of the little Fire Phoenix steals the spotlight from Hua Shu. Feeling discontented, Hua Shu discreetly approaches the successor to the Heavenly Emperor, Immortal Lord Lan Feng, with the hope of elevating the Peacock Clan to a top-tier immortal sect by ascending to the role of the Heavenly Empress. Hong Yi, the nephew of the Fox King from the Monster Realm, finds himself reluctantly set up for a marriage betrothal with Feng Yin by his aunt, the Fox King, Hong Ruo. However, he is accidentally angered by Gu Jin and so he challenges him to a one-on-one duel.

The Phoenix Clan is enraged, but no one knows that it was the work of the Monster Clan. High Lord Dong Hua, who has heard of the matter, delivers the Pagoda of Soul to them to preserve Feng Yin's body. Gu Jin knows that he has sinned. He decides to take responsibility. He begs the Rock of Divine Destiny for Feng Yin's revival. In exchange, he will face an ordeal. Feng Yuan and Dong Hua are worried. They punish him by imprisoning him at Forbidden Valley, Mount Daze. Feng Yin's immortal energy scatters across the Human Realm.

To cancel her master-servant covenant as early as possible, Yin wants Gu Jin to cultivate the Mirror Flower Water Moon Array with her. However, Gu Jin is not motivated and always drags Yin down. He even pranks her by using the master-server covenant. The relationship between them gets worse. In truth, Gu Jin always helps Yin, who is a jinx, to solve her troubles. He is acting arrogant yet taking care of her at the same time.

Gu Jin and Yin embark on the journey to find the immortal energy. Along the way, Yin gradually discovers that Gu Jin, despite his sharp tongue and the airs of a young master, is actually a kind person who cares for her in every situation.

Gu Jin and Yin finally enter Mount Ziyue but fail to find any trace of Hong Yi. Instead, they unexpectedly learn about a sycamore tree in the Nine Abyss Purgatory sealed in Mount Ziyue! Disregarding objections from Bi Bo, Gu Jin, with the assistance of the Tissot Coat provided by the Three-Fire Dragon Lord, secretly enters the Nine Abyss Purgatory along with Yin.

Gu Jin and Yin set off for Mount Guixu in search of the immortal energy. Mount Guixu is the territory of the former Princess of the Heavenly Clan, Chen Min, who has a grudge against Gu Jin's parents. Gu Jin decides to win Chen Min's favor by obtaining her clan emblem in the Monster Market, thinking of using it as leverage to make a deal with her. They are surprised to encounter Hong Yi again.

Gu Jin and Yin enter Mount Guixu and find the sycamore tree. They successfully obtain the fourth piece of the Fire Phoenix's immortal energy. Princess Chen Min who guards Mount Guixu has no intention to trouble them at first. However, Hong Yi remembers how the Heavenly Empress killed his parents and purposely steals the sycamore tree's core.

Gu Jin can't bear for Yin to expend her spiritual energy to treat Hong Yi's injury. He decides to attend the annual trial held in Mount Daze to win the bonus prize, the Yin Flame Yang Ice Pill, an item that can repair one's spirit core so that he can treat Hong Yi completely.

Upon comparing Gu Jin and Lan Feng in her mind, Hua Shu still believes that Lord Lan Feng surpasses in both family background and future prospects. Hence, she intentionally chooses the right moment to spend time with Lord Lan Feng, and their feelings for each other gradually become evident. Yin accidentally sees Hua Shu and Lan Feng being affectionate. She confronts Hua Shu, but Hua Shu deflects the inquiry in front of Gu Jin.

Yin goes to look for the Aqua Beast's habitat with Hong Yi under Xian Shan's guidance. They save Yan Shuang who is being pursued by the Peacock Clan. When they find out Hua Shu is lying about the Eagle Clan starting the fight between the Peacock Clan and Eagle Clan, Yin is annoyed and thinks Gu Jin should know the truth. Both Yin and Hong Yi bring Yan Shuang to Bainiao Island.

Gu Jin, Yin, and Hong Yi come to the Mortal Realm to look for the Stone of Lives. Yan Shuang, who can't find anything in the Wuji Cave, joins them. In order to repay them for helping her before, she uses her eagle eyes and locates the Stone of Lives, which unexpectedly is under the control of a sea serpent. A scheme unfolds as Yin disguises herself as a bride to get close to the creature while Gu Jin protects her in secret. Yan Shuang and Hong Yi, both skilled in formations, reluctantly partner up to infiltrate the sea serpent's lair and set up an ambush, waiting for the right moment to kill it.

The gang prepares to return the Stone of Lives to the Nether Realm. However, the Stone of Lives turns into a woman and isn't willing to return to the Nether Realm. It turns out that the Stone of Lives has a crush on Ao Ge, the Nether King. She swears that she will matchmake 10,000 couples and become a Divine Matchmaker with the ability to matchmake demi-gods and High Lords so that she can matchmake herself and Ao Ge. Under her willful request, the gang was forced to become two couples to help her achieve her wish. After that, they'll bring the Stone of Lives back to the Nether Realm so that they can acquire the guest pass and seek an audience with the Nether King.

Hong Yi returns to the Fox Clan to retrieve its sacred artifact to save Xian Zhu. Hong Ruo who is possessed by Qing Lin rejects Hong Yi. Hong Yi is enraged and leaves angrily once again! Feng Ming, the demon's spy in the Immortal Realm, guides Xian Shan to use Mount Daze's immortal vein to rescue Xian Zhu. Feng Ming uses the opportunity to plant the God-killing Flower's seed into the immortal vein.

Hong Chou discovers that Yin is the calamity of Gu Jin. Seizing the opportunity while Gu Jin is distracted, Hong Chou draws away Gu Jin's emotional ties. In an instant, all of Gu Jin's love for Yin dissipates. Yin, having meticulously prepared for Gu Jin's arrival to fulfill their marriage covenant, now finds Gu Jin, who has lost those emotional ties, proposing to re-enter into a master-servant covenant to protect her.

Yin and Hong Yi arrive in the Heavenly Palace together. Although Hong Yi is assigned to the Wind Hall, he insists on joining the Military Hall where Yin is. As a result, he becomes tied up by Supreme Master Yu Feng and ends up getting injured in an attempt to attack Yu Feng. In the midst of the chaos, Yan Shuang arrives. When she is applying medicine for Hong Yi, she recalls the memory of their kiss in the Mortal Realm and blushes.

Gu Jin heads to the Military Hall to get a custom battle dress and inquire about the sycamore tree. Yin takes his measurements for him, forming an intimate scene. The others are curious about their relationship. Yin reveals her love for Gu Jin shyly. She also hears from Fu Chen that Gu Jin may have been stripped of his threads of affection.

To calm the tensions between the immortals and monsters, the Immortal Realm is preparing to convene the Lingyao Assembly and create an Energy Protection Arrow to preserve Emperor Zhen Yi's finger bone, which will be returned to the Monster Realm. Hua Shu deliberately praises Gu Jin in front of Hong Chou. Meanwhile, Hong Chou intends to use Hua Shu to deal with Yin. She creates an opportunity for Hua Shu and Gu Jin to be alone together. Yin misunderstands them when she comes to deliver mung bean cakes to Gu Jin.

Stone of Lives helps the Divine Matchmaker to locate Gu Jin's threads of affection. The gang collects Gu Jin's dreams and obtains a lead. Stone of Lives follows the lead to Mount Daze in order to locate his threads of affection. In order to please Gu Jin, Hua Shu lures him to Ji Island of the Northern Sea. It turns out that there's a sycamore tree here. Gu Jin collects another piece of Feng Yin's immortal energy successfully. Now, he has five pieces of it. Hua Shu wants to manipulate his gratitude for her to win his heart again. But, Gu Jin distances himself from her.

Ao Ge leaves the place and purposely delays the people coming to arrest Yin to buy time. Gu Jin brings Yin to the God of War Hall. The four people find clues of Blood-Consuming Sand in the Energy Protection Arrow fragments. Yan Shuang investigates the roster of the Military Hall, Hong Yi investigates the Wind Hall, and Gu Jin and Yin go to Yi Sea. They find Feng Ming who tries to destroy the evidence. Yu Feng follows Gu Jin and arrives to prove Yin's innocence. Feng Ming hurt his hand during the fight and pins the blame on Yan Si to clear his name.

Hua Shu is mad at Lan Feng after failing to become one of the Five Supreme Masters, yet little does she know that Lan Feng is well aware of what she did. Despite her manipulations and schemes, Lan Feng tolerates her and even takes the punishment for her. Moved by Lan Feng's partiality towards her, Hua Shu finally opens her heart to him.

Eight pieces of Feng Yin's immortal energy have been gathered. Her flesh body has been stabilized. But, Gu Jin feels a sharp pain in his chest. He finds Bi Bo in an attempt to extend Yin's lifespan. He finds out that the God Elixir is needed to save Yin. But, the ingredients for God Elixir are extremely rare. Gu Jin searches for the ingredients. He even agrees to Hua Shu's questionable conditions to acquire one of its ingredients. Hua Shu is getting married. She intends to be on good terms with Gu Jin. Gu Jin says that he'll do everything in his power to help her out in the future.

As Yin's life is about to end, the God Elixir made by Gu Jin proves ineffective. Frantically, Gu Jin takes Yin to Mount Ziyue, where he learns from Bi Bo that the making of the God Elixir requires a large amount of demon pith. Despite Bi Bo's reluctance for Gu Jin to take risks, he resolutely enters the Nine Abyss Purgatory.

Yin was rescued successfully. But, Gu Jin realizes that the seal on the Fire Phoenix Jade has vanished. When he rushes back to Mount Daze, he sees a desolate place with all its members slaughtered. That's the disaster the sect helped him to avert. Strong anguish and regret fill his body, causing his True God power to be awakened. The power of chaos returns. True God Yuan Qi resurfaces in front of all the other immortals, who were caught off-guard.

Yin takes a risk to save Hong Yi. In order not to cause trouble for Yuan Qi, Yin does not want to escape with Hong Yi and Lin Mo. In the end, Hua Shu captures Yin. Yuan Qi rushes to the scene and stops Yin from getting hurt. He insists on punishing Yin himself and revokes her status as an immortal and prevents her from stepping foot into Qingchi Palace until the day Mount Daze revives. Yin does not argue when she sees that Yuan Qi is blaming her. Mount Daze has been destroyed and will never revive. Yin is dejected because she thinks she is grounded forever.

Hua Shu takes advantage of Yuan Qi's absence from the Heavenly Palace and executes punishment on Yin in advance. Upon hearing this, Hong Yi mobilizes his forces to rescue Yin, sparking a war between the immortals and monsters. Meanwhile, the demon-possessed Hong Ruo seizes the Fire Phoenix Jade from Yuan Qi, attempting to open the Nine Abyss Purgatory and release Ming Qi and the demons. In order to stop her, Three-Fire destroys his True God divine energy and ends up being sucked into the Nine Abyss Purgatory along with Bi Bo.

After Yin dies, Yuan Qi is immersed in his dreams and will not wake up until he feels Yin's immortal soul in the Nether Realm. Yuan Qi goes to the Nether Realm to find Yin. After going through the Hellfire Barrier and Sea of Misery, he is injured and still won't give up. Finally, his hope is lost once again.

Yuan Qi travels across the world and suffers from one setback after another. Even so, he finds no traces of Yin. He encounters plenty of sycamore trees. But, they don't contain Feng Yin's last piece of immortal energy. Yuan Qi senses Yin's Soul Mark occasionally. It passes by and can't be traced. He always visits the Nether Realm during Yin's death anniversary every year. He leaves with disappointment after being mocked by Xiu Yan.

Feng Yin was incarnated as a demi-god. Upon receiving the news, Feng Yuan returns to Wutong Island, but she harbors suspicions about Feng Yin's detached attitude towards worldly matters. Without asking Yuan Qi, Hong Chou replaces the congratulatory gift from Qingchi Palace, which is meant for Lady Feng's rebirth, with a betrothal gift. Upon learning of this, Yuan Qi heads straight to Wutong Island. He seeks forgiveness from Feng Yuan and requests to break off the engagement. Feng Yin, on the other hand, has already rejected the marriage proposal. She doesn't even want to see Yuan Qi.

Feng Yin remembers her painful past after seeing Yuan Qi. She returns to the aqua beast's habitat, but she bumps into Yuan Qi, who brought Yu to the same place for an investigation. She intends to leave, but Yu finds her. Yu approaches her naturally and heals her wound with her aqua beast power. Feng Yin is stunned. Only then she found out that her sister had already grown up and acquired a human form. She is elated and treats Yu gently.

Feng Yin visits the Mortal Realm to find Yan Shuang but is amazed by the Pear Blossom. Yan Shuang, who is making Pear Blossom Liquor, doesn't recognize Feng Yin and chases her away. She hugs Feng Yin with tears and laughs when she finds out Feng Yin is Yin. When they speak about the past, Hong Yi hears the truth about Feng Yin being Yin. Hong Yi doesn't know how to speak of his feelings for her. He only finds "Yin" in front of him to be someone he finds unfamiliar.

Hong Yi, Feng Yin, and Yu Feng reinvestigate the case that was unsolved 1,000 years ago. However, Hong Yi didn't expect that to interrupt his date with Yan Shuang in Pear Blossom Hut. Yan Shuang thinks that Hong Yi is replying to her question by avoiding her. Yan Shuang decides to give up on Hong Yi. She encounters Immortal Lord Lian Xi, who had a crush on her for 1,000 years, when she's dejected. Hong Yi chases after her and sees them chatting happily. He becomes furious. He has no idea that he's jealous of Lian Xi.

Yuan Qi uses the Mixed Souls Cloud Pearl, which he has refined for 1,000 years, together with the tokens of the Five Supreme Masters, to activate the Mixed Souls Cloud Pearl Formation and travel to the past with Feng Yin and Hong Yi. The immortals learn from the formation that the real culprit behind the murders of Lord Lan Feng and Monster Emperor Lin Sen is demon-possessed Hong Ruo, who is actually Qing Lin. It is obvious that Qing Lin still has helpers hiding in the Immortal Realm. Outside the formation, Hua Mo realizes he's about to be exposed. He secretly uses his power to make Feng Ming ruin the formation and puts all the blame on Feng Ming.

News of the Monster Emperor and the Phoenix Emperor's marriage has spread all over the Three Realms. After Yuan Qi hears the news, he knows there's more than meets the eye about Feng Yin and Hong Yi's wedding. He rushes to Wutong Island to ask Feng Yin about it but Feng Yin does not reveal anything. Yuan Qi is anxious and angry. Hong Yi's wish is going to be fulfilled but he still finds Feng Yin to be unfamiliar. All he can think about is Yan Shuang. Hong Yi goes to Eagle Island by using the marriage preparation as an excuse but he is chased out by Yan Shuang.

Hong Yi infiltrates the Eagle Clan's territory with a vat of liquor. He encounters Yan Shuang's succession ceremony. Yan Shuang tells him that he's an outsider inferior to Lian Xi. Yan Shuang says that her willful actions in the past only represented her, but now, as the Eagle King, she represents the Eagle Clan. If she makes contact with the Monster Emperor in private, it'll affect the relationship between the Immortal Clan and the Monster Clan. She tells him that they should avoid suspicion. Hong Yi is triggered by her words. He leaves furiously, telling her that they shall only see each other as the Eagle King and the Monster Emperor if they meet again.

Hong Chou is upset that Divine Lord lowered his rank and status to be with Feng Yin. She visits Wutong Island every day to invite Divine Lord back to Qingchi Palace. She's unsatisfied with Feng Yin, but she's suppressed by her authority. After finding out that Feng Yin was actually Yin, the aqua beast she despised, she returned to Qingchi Palace shamefully. Yuan Qi once told Feng Yin that the heavens would go easy on him for the heavenly punishment. But he lied to Feng Yin and only pretended to be tough after enduring the heavenly punishment. His body and soul would've perished if it weren't for the Souls Sword's power of chaos.

Hua Shu, who has become a demon, is determined to resurrect Lan Feng. Hua Mo tricks Hua Shu into believing that she only needs an inner elixir of the aqua beast to revive him. Hua Shu, who is determined to get the aqua beast's inner elixir, finds out that Yu is going to gain experience in the Mortal Realm. She sets up a trap in the Mortal Realm, but her plan is spoiled by Yuan Qi and Feng Yin, who are protecting Yu in secret. They discover the entrance to Purple Moon in the Mortal Realm. Feng Yi and Yuan Qi work together again to seal off the entrance. Yan Shuang brings Yu back to the Heavenly Palace.

Feng Yin goes to the Heavenly Palace to speak with Supreme Master Yu Feng. Qing Yi brings a new immortal who resembles Xian Shan to them. The new immortal was Xian Shan. Yuan Qi lies that Mount Daze is given a second chance as the Ancestral God took pity on them. He didn't expect Feng Yin to inquire about it from Feng Yuan and reveal his lie. Feng Yuan tells Feng Yin that Yuan Qi has sacrificed a lot to revive the entire Mount Daze.

Feng Yin is deeply hurt. She tries to find a way to save Yuan Qi but fails. All the ancient scrolls are borrowed by Chang Que and cannot be found. Feng Yin finds Chang Que and finds out her Phoenix Essence must be sacrificed to save Yuan Qi. Yuan Qi knows about it and destroys the records on the spot. Feng Yin cries in Yuan Qi's arms before remembering how cruel it is about "Life coming after death" during her journey to find Feng Yin's immortal energy.

During the selection of the new Heavenly Emperor, Feng Yuan sets up the Nine-Box Pagoda. The person who obtains the Heavenly Emperor Seal within it will be the next Heavenly Emperor. Yuan Qi, Hong Yi, and Yan Shuang set up a trap outside the pagoda for Hua Shu. They never expect Hua Shu to murder Elder Kunlun and sneak into the Nine-Box Pagoda using the Veil of Illusion. She encounters Feng Yin at the last test.

In the demonic barrier, Ming Qi's demonic power is so powerful that they cannot defend against him. Yuan Qi knows that the only way to seal the Nine Abyss Purgatory and prevent the demons from breaking out is to offer his Chaos Power Source as a sacrifice into the formation. He embraces Feng Yin tightly and then shakes everyone out of the formation. Feng Yin realizes what Yuan Qi is trying to do. She tries to rush up and stop him, but it is too late, Yuan Qi has already sacrificed his Chaos Power Source. The immense power knocks Ming Qi back into the barrier. Everything returns to the beginning.
